Christmas Market Mallorca 2023 – TOP NEWS

Mallorca has plenty to offer during the Christmas season: Christmas markets with culinary delights, nativity exhibitions, and impressive attractions such as a giant Christmas bauble. The charming villages entice visitors with handcrafted artworks and regional treats. The island promises a magical Christmas season for everyone.

Mulled wine, punch, bratwurst and ice skating – every year anew, there’s not just one Christmas market Mallorca. We’ve been busy and have put together which dates are already confirmed. And we’ll tell you which Christmas market Mallorca you shouldn’t miss. And which one you can probably skip!
We’ve already gathered the first dates for you. Mallorca offers a very special atmosphere during the Christmas season, and we’ve listed the most beautiful and most popular Christmas markets on the island for you. This page is continuously updated so you won’t miss a festive experience. Look forward to your favourite Mallorca Christmas market and write in the comments which one it is!
If you’re wondering about the times, which are in some cases unusual for Germany, that’s because in Spain the more important holiday is not until 6 January. With the “Reyes Magos”, the arrival of the Three Wise Men is celebrated everywhere with big, magnificent parades. And only after that do the little ones get their presents. You can find out more about this lovely Spanish tradition here:
But now let’s get started with the Christmas markets, a brief description and, of course, the dates:

Puerto Portals

The Christmas market in Puerto Portals will begin on 14 December, and you can see it for yourself until 6 January. More than forty wooden stalls, decorated with fairy lights and Christmas trees, offer a diverse selection of high-quality products to fill the Christmas season with joy: decorations, accessories, wooden toys and much more. In addition, there will be a wide-ranging gastronomic offering. The market is one of the most popular Christmas markets in the region and features a comprehensive programme of activities for the whole family, with the ice rink an absolute highlight you definitely shouldn’t miss!
Insider: As every year, the Christmas market Mallorca in Puerto Portals is the secret favourite … Let’s see whether it makes it to the top spot again this year!

Palma

Christmas markets
On Plaza Mayor and along the main streets, there are plenty of fascinating attractions to discover. Here you have the opportunity to buy Christmas decorations and gifts. We especially recommend visiting the impressive nativity exhibitions found throughout the city, such as the one at City Hall on Plaza Cort. In the city centre, you’ll also find Christmas stalls on the Rambla and near Plaza España. There are churros (traditional Spanish fried pastry, very tasty!), handicrafts and lots of festive decoration items for Christmas!

Plaza Mayor

Rambla

The Rambla is really lovely when there’s a Christmas market there. The stalls are, let’s say, rather pragmatically plain (let’s just call them containers), but the illuminated boulevard in all its splendour, with all the people strolling along under the plane trees in a festive mood, is simply beautiful. And shortly before the end there’s a great waffle stand—don’t miss it!

Borne

Christmas Market Mallorca
Strictly speaking, it’s not a Christmas market Mallorca, but simply lavishly Christmassy and beautifully decorated. And the cafés have these not-so-environmentally-friendly but very pleasant gas heaters, so on warm days you can even sit outside and enjoy either a pre-Christmas hot chocolate or a delicious cocktail.

Pueblo Español

Mallorca Christmas Market Pueblo Espanol
Every year in December, the Pueblo Español hosts a charming Christmas market Mallorca. This architectural gem in Palma is home to replicas of Spain’s most famous buildings, giving its streets and squares a unique backdrop for this special event. And the absolute highlight: it snows! Every day at 18:00, the snow cannons are switched on—and it’s a wonderful experience not only for children. You can find a video from last year here:
The “Christmas Market” is open this year from 1 to 17 December, daily from 12:00 to 23:00. Admission costs approx. €10 for adults and €2 for children. Children up to 6 years have free entry.
Pueblo Español is less than 1 km from the Bay of Palma and is easy to reach by car, offers free parking (though it’s often full during Christmas market season), and is well connected to public transport (which is our recommendation).

Santa Ponsa

Christmas Market Mallorca
There will once again be a Christmas market Mallorca in Santa Ponça. The Mercadillo de Navidad takes place at the El Molí de Calviá festival grounds near the motorway exit and is open from 25 November to 17 December. Particularly exciting for children are the large LEGO tent and various activities centred around crafting and decorating Christmas trees, as well as a flea market. The Christmas decorations and outdoor lighting come from England, and the live music is provided by a German band. The Christmas market is open Monday to Friday from 17:00 to 22:00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 22:00.

Port Adriano

Christmas markets
From 22 December, the Starck marina will celebrate the Street Christmas Festival for the second time—an event with a wide selection of gourmet food trucks and a Christmas bazaar for your shopping. Of course, at this Christmas market Mallorca Santa Claus himself will also be present to collect the children’s wish lists, right in the middle of a huge and spectacular 4-metre-high Christmas bauble. This enchanting atmosphere will delight children and adults alike, and we’ll certainly see lots of photos of this big Christmas dream on social networks.
For the little ones, there are activities such as creative face painting, musical activities, lots of games and a large bouncy castle. A festive atmosphere in which everyone can enjoy the Christmas season. Do stop by! Or read about how we liked it—we’ll of course take a look and, as every year, update our list of the best Christmas markets Mallorca. Maybe Port Adriano will make it onto the list as a newcomer?

Son Amar

Son Amar Christmas market Christmas Wonderland
From 1 to 22 December—always from Thursday to Sunday—the House of Son Amar becomes a Christmassy leisure park. And that’s really how you should picture it. Immerse yourself in the (somewhat American-style) festive spirit and enjoy a varied programme of activities with a traditional craft market. There’s plenty of entertainment for young and old, including a large ice rink, daily performances of “It’s Christmas” with the artists from the shows “Exhibit II” and “Ohalá”, a visit to Santa Claus’s cave, and of course there’s also plenty to eat and drink!
There’s also the Heineken beer garden, a wide selection of food and drinks at the “Reino de Alcázar” restaurant, as well as daily fireworks shows that will make your Christmas 2023 at this Christmas market Mallorca especially memorable. Let the magic begin!

Santuari de Lluc

Christmas markets
This Christmas market Mallorca takes place in one of Mallorca’s most picturesque regions, on a high plateau surrounded by the highest mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana, right next to the Santuari de Lluc, perhaps the island’s most important historic monastery. It runs over two days in December (on 9.12 and 10.12.) on Plaça dels Pelegrins (Pilgrims’ Square), which is festively lit and full of Christmas spirit. At around forty stalls, there is a wide selection of products associated with this festive season, including decorative items, culinary treats, textiles, organic products and an impressive variety of handmade items.
And with a lot of luck, you have the best chance on the island of seeing a little snow here. After all, the monastery is one of the highest places on the island at over 1,000 metres above sea level.

Alaró

Christmas markets
Also on 9 and 10 December, we recommend a visit to the enchanting village of Alaró, where a magical Christmas market Mallorca takes place on the picturesque main square. Located at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, this market offers over 60 stalls with handcrafted artworks, designer creations, antiques, toys and works of art. Enjoy tasty snacks from the food trucks and treat yourself to a chupito or a warm coffee drink in the local bars. Live music and activities for children round off this Christmas market Mallorca.
  • Date: 9 December – 10 December
  • Location: Plaça de la Vila
As always, we will keep this page updated for you so you don’t miss anything and can plan and enjoy the festive season to the fullest this year as well. And after we’ve made the rounds of the markets ourselves, it will also be clear which are the best Christmas markets on Mallorca 2023.
